Winless drought finally comes to end for the Dark Knights
Although it didn’t happen right away, the Dark Knights needed a shootout in their second game to record their first win in six games. Led by a three point performance in the opening match, S.Sicuso came out prepared setting up S.Bordonaro early in the contest before hitting the short side high above M. Galliardi’s shoulder for a 2-0 lead. The Dark Knights got on the board by the second period with a power play goal by F.Cirillo to cut the lead in half but that was as good as it got as the Billionaires added two more tallies to cap off the match. The way the second game started off, the Billionaires must have had no doubt that they would have added a second straight result. Maybe it was a question of over confidence, but the Dark Knights will argue otherwise as their resilient play sparked two straight goals to overcome a 2-0 deficit. Once again, F.Cirillo got on the board to cut the lead in half followed with the equalizer by J.Messina. If that wasn’t enough for Cirillo, his lone shootout tally proved to be the difference in handing the Dark Knights their first win of the season. The Billionaires won the first game 4-1 while the Dark Knights took the second 3-2 in a shootout.

After coming up short in the opening contest, the 1 Timer bounced back in the second game to record their first win of the season. Team X took the opener by winning the second period with two unanswered goals for a 4-2 result. D.Galloro fed J-M Loiseau twice while aiding the game winning tally by D.Ramada. The 1 Timer did have T.Daigneault click well as the forward benefited both times with the help of L-P Gorry. While the first game belonged to Team X, the 1 Timer were able to turn the tables in game two. Deadlocked at two goals a piece after one frame, the 1 Timer took total control of the final period producing three unanswered goals. T.Daigneault broke the tie early in the frame followed with tallies by N.Blanchard and P-A Surprenant. Leading to that point, J.Dias notched both markers in the first period to even the score at two goals a piece. This result hands Team X their first loss of the season while the 1 Timer gladly got their first W in the win column. Team X won the opener 4-2 but dropped their second game 5-2.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Frankie Cirillo of the Dark Knights. After netting his clubs only goal in the first game, Cirillo continued his progress in the second match adding another tally along with the lone shootout winner
