Thursday October 8
(8)TANK vs Capitals(3)
Tank broke the contest open with a four goal second period en route to an 8-3 win over the Capitals. Y.Gazura had a big night scoring three times with two of those tallies coming by the second period where the green machine took a 5-1 lead. As expected, N.Gilbert racked up a few points finishing with one goal and three assists. While Tank played with expected chemistry, the Capitals have been out of action for a while and without some key players in their first of two games of a double header night.
(3)Armadillos vs United Arms(2)
Still going strong, the Armadillos scored in every frame to barely get passed the United Arms. R.Cohen got the ball rolling riffling an early power play goal. The Armadillos extended the lead to 2-0 when M.Baccari scored once again for his new club. After shutting the door for nearly two periods, C.Stavriadis conceded his first goal on a power play marker by T.Apanian. On two occasions, the United Arms came within one goal but weren’t able to get that equalizer. Stavriadis once again performed well in nets denying 28 of 30 shots. The Armadillos are the only team that is still undefeated in the D Thursday night division.
(5)Bramabulls vs Capitals(2)
The Bramabulls came very prepared on Thursday night as they hand the Capitals another loss. The well rounded club had already made the game 4-0 before the Capitals notched their first goal of the contest. With balanced scoring, the Bramabulls looked to no one in particular except for an overall team effort. J.DeSua had a big goal for the winner and was the only Bramabull along with J.Palmitano to earn two points. After facing 29 shots, G.Follano got credited the win between the pipes.
(1)Brewers vs Legacy(0)
If there is any team that’s capable of winning a hockey game 1-0, are definitely the Brewers. What makes this even more impressive is that it got done versus a club who are really good at finding the back of the net. The Brewers used a sparkling performance by C.Muccino to take down Legacy, as the net minder did not allow a goal on 31 shots. The game’s lone tally came by the first period when C.Charles struck to beat M.Dagenais for the only time in the game. Each side took their share of penalties and were awarded plenty of scoring chances only to face to walls between the pipes.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Carmen Muccino. The Brewers goaltender was brilliant to earn a difficult 1-0 shutout over Legacy.
