(2)All Blacks vs Bramabulls(5)
Streaking Bramabulls remain undefeated
The surprising Bramabulls passed another early season challenge, this time getting the better of the B division defending champions. J.Beaudry stopped 24 shots and O.Grenier’s second period goal gave the Bramabulls a 3-0 lead that was just enough to get by the All Blacks. Grenier didn’t stop there by adding his second along with his third point as a dominant force for the Bramabulls. Struggling to get on the board, the All Blacks finally struck early in the third period courtesy of A.Bigeault. Both sides entered the night fighting for first place. The Bramabulls will look to extend their streak in next week’s game versus the Slayers who have yet to record a point so far.
(1)Hustlers vs Black Knights(4)
Struggling Hustlers suffer another loss
The Hustlers know that they need to be averaging more than one goal a game. While defensively they did a fine job containing the Black Knights, one third period goal just doesn’t cut it. The Black Knights only led 1-0 after two periods before widening the gap. After opening up the scoring, J.Gagne may have put the match away when netting his second on the power play for a 3-0 lead. The Hustlers did get the satisfaction of spoiling P-O Girouard’s shutout but that’s as good as it got. P.Musto collected two assists and P.Genereux notched the winner by the early stages of the third period. The Hustlers schedule doesn’t get any easier as they’ll face off next against hockey’s best in Red Lite.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to P-O Girouard of the Black Knights. The solid goaltender played a near perfect game allowing only one third period goal to help lead the Black Knights 4-1 over the Hustlers.
