Hondronicolas, Dawgz thump Bengals
The Devil Dawgz scored three goals in every period including three with their special teams to pace 9-6 over the Bengals on Friday night. L.Hondronicolas had the most goals riffling a hat trick as the captain finished with a very productive six point game. K.Araujo and S.Tzintzis each scored twice that saw K.Araujo post both his goals shorthanded and on the power play. The Devil Dawgs led comfortably 6-1 after two periods before letting go in the final frame where the Bengals surged with five goals. K.Panagiotides had a multi goal performance along with an assist in the loss.
(5)Brewers vs Hawks(6)
Moscato hat trick leads Hawks over Brewers
A.Moscato notched two important third period goals to help the Hawks remain as the only undefeated team in the division. The Hawks looked to be in control at one point, but A.Lanni kept the Brewers within close margin accumulating three third period points. Each side opened it up in the final frame trading three goals a piece. E.Colella used a couple of blistering slap shots to beat G.Platanitis while adding a helper on N.Domingos’s goal. The Brewers only led once very early on courtesy of M.Cohen until forced to play catch up all game long.
(5)Park Avenue Legends vs Stones(4) O.T
No Change ups stun Stones
The Park Avenue Legends did something improbable on Friday night by winning a game without any changes to their bench. Those circumstances usually require leads in order to work and the Park Avenue Legends made sure to strike first and second to put pressure on their opponents. The Stones did eventually climb back into the game winning a big second period while getting a very late equalizer from T.Settino. But as nice as that comeback was, played out for nothing in the end as the Park Avenue Legends found a way to take the match. The game ended when M.Goineau used a hard slap shot right before the centre line to beat a screened O.Caillet. Goineau shared two goals with G.Typaldos while N.Kokovidis and N.Macrozonaris each had three points.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Martin Goineau of the Park Avenue Legends. Having to play with no spares on their bench, M.Goineau played over 45 minutes producing three points that included the overtime winning goal.
