(2)Street Ballers vs Les Balcons(5)
Les Balcons depth simply too much for Ballers
Backed by a deep roster, Les Balcons will be a menace to play against. The Street Ballers found themselves chasing their opponents for most of the night having barely any time and space to generate scoring chances. M-O Lavoie ignited two first period goals with the help of W.Hindley, who went on to add a third assist. The Street Ballers missed a golden opportunity to pull within one on the power play, instead M-A Dubois struck for Les Balcons who never looked back. The captain of the Street Ballers M.Gibeault did his part scoring once while setting up Y.Dube on the power play. E.Rousseau earned the win in net after facing 25 shots.
(9)SBS Trashers vs Eagles(1)
Trashers open season with convincing win over Eagles
The SBS Trashers showed its attacking power on Thursday night with a lopsided 9-1 win over a familiar opponent. Already with a solid line up, the SBS Trashers just got stronger with the return of F.Gentile. His three goals and one assist led all players in scoring. The game witnessed its first goal when the captain E.Panzera took advantage of a power play opportunity. Then just under four minutes, M.Elfassy doubled the lead heading into the second period. The Eagles hoped to rebound after a slow start but things only got worst. The SBS Trashers owned the second period adding four more tallies to take away any sort of life from the Eagles. The only bright spot in the loss came when Y.Marineau scored late to spoil a perfect night from R.Pampena. If tonight was an indication of how the season will go, than the SBS Trashers look like they will be the team to beat. Two other squads didn’t start as they prepare for what will be a difficult challenge.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Filiberto Gentile of the SBS Trashers. The sniper showed what he’s all about by posting three goals and a helper in a 9-1 rout of the Eagles.
