Monday August 22(Finals)
(1)Les Carmonis vs Jokers(2) Game 1
Jokers rally, top Les Carmonis on late power play goal
S.Gagnon, apart from letting in an early goal, stabilized his crease with a near flawless performance. The Jokers fought back to even the score when S.Dimakos tallied by the mid way point of the second period. The way both sides played it tight, the next goal was surely going to decide who would escape with the win. This contest appeared to be headed into a shootout until a late power play goal decided otherwise. With only 12 seconds left, S.Mannpreet gave his club plenty to celebrate after beating L-C Desmarais. As nice as the comeback from behind win was, the Jokers still had a difficult challenge ahead of them with a desperate team on the ropes.
(1)Jokers vs Les Carmonis(0) Game 2
S.Gagnon continues from where he left off, Jokers crowned as 4 vs 4 champions
Defense indeed won the night on Monday as the Jokers claimed glory with a close 1-0 win over Les Carmonis. A team that at one point looked to be missing the playoffs turned things around in every possible way. From making key adjustments with one of them being a goalie change, the Jokers finished off as one of the best or if not the best team in the second half of the season. Tonight they applied the basics to getting it done. A.Dayan provided the timely goal while the supporting cast all did their part to take away plenty of time and space from their opponents. In addition to all that, S.Gagnon may have been the centre piece reason as to why the Jokers were able to celebrate on Monday night. In both games, the solid net minder allowed all but an early goal from game one. The Jokers are a group of guys that are no strangers to one another. When combining chemistry, the will to win and the amount of leadership from one group, good things could only happen. On behalf of Hockeyballe.com, congratulations go out to James Pereira, Matthew Melo and the rest of the Jokers for putting together an incredible run.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Sebastien Gagnon of the Jokers. His club couldn’t ask for more. The net minder stood solid allowing only one goal in two of the most important games of the season.
