(1)Left Wings vs Legacy(2)
Robineault, Girouard lead Legacy to 2-1 win
Legacy’s dynamic duo clicks with S.Robineault and E.Girouard each scoring in a tight 2-1 victory over the Left Wings. With each side trading second period goals, E.Girouard gave his club the lead in the third which proved to be just enough for the result. The Left Wings re shaped their format by putting J.Provost-Blais and J.Adamou on defense. And while that can cause concern for any opposition, the Left Wings lose out on their ability to score up front. M.Papagiannakis was the only player to put the ball behind M.Dagenais, who made 21 saves to win his first of a double header night.
(2)River Rats vs Bramabulls(3) S.O
M-A Martineau shows off sweet shootout move
In his first game dressed with the Bramabulls, M-A Martineau won the game with an unreal move that completely got the better of the River Rats net minder. This game could have easily gone either way. The Bramabulls hung in there having to survive two four minute penalties. M.Cerone opened the scoring for the River Rats but L.Dulcetta was able to level by beating the buzzer right at the end of the opening frame. Each side went on to exchange a second period goal that left a scoring drought for well over twenty minutes. At times, the River Rats applied some decent pressure but kept getting frustrated by J.Beaudry, who was stellar once more. Entering the night, plenty of pride was on the line for two teams that know each other very well. And while the Bramabulls may have won this small battle, the River Rats will be focusing on a much bigger picture.
(1)Thunderballs vs Legacy(8)
J.Rochon and P.Assadi record hat tricks
Fatigue was nowhere close to being an issue for Legacy, who cruised to an easy 8-1 win. With plenty of weapons up front, J.Rochon and P.Assadi took care of most of the scoring netting hat tricks. Legacy mounted a comfortable 5-0 lead before giving up their only goal. M.Dagenais played two full games and was nearly perfect both times. The net minder faced a total of 40 shots in a double header night giving up only two goals. After a slow start to their season, things are starting to shape up for Legacy. As for the Thunderballs, time is slowly running out with only three games remaining.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Mathieu Dagenais of Legacy. In two games of a double header night, the goaltender stood tall allowing only two goals on 40 shots.
