(0)United Armenians vs Ultimate Hockey(4)
Ultimate Hockey top United Armenians in divisional match up
The Ultimate Hockey’s offense didn’t need to be lethal but it was effective enough as they cruised to a 4-0 win over the United Armenians. H.Merone and C.Plaisir each scored first period goals and M.Dorismond knew that he wouldn’t have a busy night facing only 4 shots. Neither side got anything going in the second. In the third period however, the Ultimate Hockey regained their scoring touch adding two more goals by P.Plaisir and F.Tremblay. The United Armenians wanted to at least get one by that point but couldn’t solve M.Dorismond, who denied a mere 15 shots his way. If this is what to be expected in the playoffs, then the Ultimate Hockey will confidently get by the United Armenians.
(6)Black Knights vs Red Lite(4)
P.Genereux & J.Madracchia score twice in 6-4 decision over familiar opponent
Only one point separated both sides prior to the match, but the Black Knights showed that they wanted it more versus their long time rival. P.Genereux and J.Mandracchia were behind much of the offense providing two goals apiece. The Black Knights led 5-2 after two periods and got there with a strong effort by P-O Girouard, who made several key saves to protect the gap. Unable to bounce back, the Red Lite finished a little stronger but the damage had already been done. S.Deslauriers and A.Desrosiers also went on to score for the Black Knights while Red Lite got scoring efforts from-four different players.
(4)Team Haiti vs HBHA(2)
Team Haiti flex muscles in wild 4-2 win over HBHA
This game was all about heart and grit for a side that never gave up no matter what the circumstances. It didn’t matter that the HBHA went up 2-0 after nearly two periods as Team Haiti kept battling to crawl back into the game. B.Cherubin’s late second period goal may have ignited the spark they needed. With that, came two power play opportunities where they made sure to bury their chances. First, C.Plaisir evened the score, and then with less than two minutes remaining, M.Tremblay gave his club something real to celebrate about by snapping the 2-2 tie. It’s a game that both sides took valuable lessons despite the amount of ball hockey minutes each player has under their belt. For tonight, Team Haiti just kept working in hopes of it paying off while the HBHA may have taken their 2-0 lead for granted with nearly two periods completed.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Philippe Carrie of Team Haiti. The net minder was a key component in why his club rallied-from a 2-0 deficit in their comeback win versus the HBHA.
