(7)Fatal Demons vs Lumberjacks(4)
K.Araujos’s late shorty changes the tides for Fatal Demons
The Lumberjacks, despite jumping off to a better start posting a 3-1 first period lead, eventually saw their short legs run out of gas by the third period. Prior to the last frame, K.Araujo may have shifted the game into the Fatal Demon’s favor .His shorthanded goal leveled the game at three goals apiece rather than the Lumberjacks grabbing a two goal cushion if they could have capitalized with their man advantage. Since that point on there was no stopping the Fatal Demons as they simply out worked and out ran a more tired bunch. K.Araujo had a multi goal game along with two helpers. It came in a losing cause but the Lumberjacks better players came to play. D.Ruiz collected a hat trick and an assist while C.Gingras was behind setting up three out of his clubs four goals.
(8)Shockers vs Butchers(5)
M.Blackman continues to impress with another dominant performance
Continual excellence is always impressive. When any team has a player like Matt Blackman, than you are assured that the quality of a good hockey player will bring you somewhere. The Shockers are already a force to be reckoned with but when having someone as highly skilled such as M.Blackman your chances of success increase dramatically. In tonight’s case, the Butchers had to deal with half of their goals against that came-from the very same Shockers superstar. T.Salberg is also someone who puts up numbers as the sniper had a regular night posting two goals and a helper. The Butchers found themselves playing behind the eight ball for the entire night by giving up a 2-0 first period lead that proved to be costly. Y.Gazura joined his club for the first time and made an immediate impression scoring two goals and an assist for the Butchers.
(12)Team Cuba vs Lumberjakcs(6)
Juiced out Lumberjacks threw in the towel by the third period
In their second game of a double header night, the Lumberjacks went through similar motions. There small bench only lasted so long. For two periods the game was respectively close but not in the third where they looked like spectators rather than players. But that’s only because they didn’t have the man power after having player only an hour earlier. Team Cuba kept working and benefited enormously by riffling seven third period goals. In that mix, S.Robineault and E.Girouard were simply too difficult to contain. Out of the twelve goals that went in for Team Cuba, the dynamic duo were on a tear netting ten of those markers that resulted in five each.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Kevin Araujo of the Fatal Demons. His timely late second period shorthanded goal may have been the reason why the Fatal Demons took the match in the end. Araujo went on to collect four points that included two goals.
