(4)Bramabulls vs Acolytes(2)
Third period scoring spree gives Bulls edge over Acolytes
With both sides keeping it quiet for most of the night, a third period scoring spree ended up favoring the Bramabulls. The game was held to a slight 1-0 lead after two periods for the Bramabulls before the onslaught began. P.Rivera had opened the scoring by the mid way point of the first period and added his second by the final frame making his tally hold up for the winner. A.Grieco had a busy night facing 30 shots and may have been the reason why his club took the match in the end. The net minder was perfect for over two straight periods giving his club enough time to play with the lead.
(5)Primetime vs Les Raymonds(8)
Les Raymonds outlast Primetime in high scoring affair
In the span of only five minutes, Les Raymonds completely outplayed Primetime to take what was a high scoring result. It was by the start of the second period where the flood gates opened for Les Raymonds. Primetime actually led 3-2 at that point but lost control in an instance giving up four very quick tallies. A.Hussain scored twice during that span, but it may have been L-O Trudel’s shorthanded marker that ultimately doomed his opponents. M-D Pereira went on to add his second by the third period for his clubs eight goal of the night. Despite the loss, C.Dapoulias showed up to play as the forward struck three times to finish with a hat trick.
(8)Horsemen vs Brew Crew(1)
T.Mader spanks Brew Crew with four tallies
For a first place battle, this contest failed to live up to expectations. Maybe it was because T.Mader was unstoppable or the Horsemen just having the better start that carried over for the rest of the match. Whatever the reasons, the Brew Crew can’t be too pleased giving up eight goals. Aside-from F.Argento’s lone third period tally, no one else was able to solve the Horsemen net minder. T.Mader only got on board as of the twelve minute mark of the second period before going on a rampage striking three more times by the third. The Horsemen now joins the Brew Crew for first place leaving only one game to the schedule for the division.
(5)Hellfish vs Les Agents Libre(4)
Hellfish keep finding ways to win
It doesn’t matter how but the Hellfish find ways to escape with positive results. In tonight’s case, D.Ugalzez was able to snap a third period 4-4 tie with a power play goal. That was Ugaldez’s second of the night sharing his scoring output with N.Bourgeois, who also beat P.DelliColli on two occasions. Considering the 10-1 record the Hellfish hold, Les Agents Libre won’t be too disappointed with this type of loss knowing that they can potentially meet when the stakes are higher. However, before thinking of the Hellfish later on, Les Agents Libre know that they have to focus on a difficult semi final round with Les Raymonds.
(3)Publiks Crew vs Mtl Huskies(6)
Late push won’t be enough for the Mtl Huskies
If the Mtl Huskies had done their calculations, then they knew that this match didn’t have any meaning to the standings. Unable to catch Les Acolytes because of the tie breaking procedure, the Mtl Huskies won’t be heading to the post season. Instead, they just focused on playing the Publiks Crew hoping to finish on a high note. After being shutout for over half the match, the Mtl Huskies finally got their motor running. It was the captain to jump start the engine as R.Estrela tallied twice in the second period that snapped a 2-2 tie. That momentum continued its rhythm by the third where D.Greco, M.Botelho and F.Reda each scored to cap off the win.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Anthony Grieco of the Bramabulls. Forced to be on top of his game, the Bramabulls net minder shined facing 30 shots in a 4-2 win over Les Acolytes.
