(3)Underdogs vs Smooth Sailors(5)
Captain J.Palmitano jolts Smooth Sailors with first period hat trick
J.Palmitano's hat trick just over twelve minutes into the game led an early barrage as the Smooth Sailors got the better of the Underdogs. To his help, J.Mandracchia assisted on all three goals while Mario Diaco was involved as well with a pair of helpers. Finding themselves playing-from behind, the Underdogs did continue to battle in hopes of bouncing back. The closest they got was when W.Abboud scored to trail 4-2 by the mid way point of the match. That narrow margin only lasted so long with L.Pennimpede regaining a three goal cushion only a minute later. The Smooth Sailors had no issues-from that point on to protecting their lead en route to a 5-3 victory.
(6)Job on Demand vs United Arms Jr(2)
S.Robineault and G.Pisanelli competing for goals
Scoring has never been an issue for S.Robineault and G.Pisanelli. And despite playing with barely two lines, both players feasted with hat tricks in their 6-2 win over the United Armenians. It can be argued that the Job on Demand played it smart on Thursday night. Knowing that they have the quality to finding the back of the net, they managed to bear down defensively as well making it very difficult for their opponents to score. This game was nearly perfect for the Job on Demand and Pedram Assadi up until the last 30 seconds when K.Kavan finally solved the net minder. What also makes this result impressive is that the Job on Demand has allowed three or less goals in their last two games.
(7)SBS Trashers vs Legends (1)
SBS Trashers refusing to lose
If there was potentially one game all season that the SBS Trashers may have dropped, this would have been it. They entered the contest without four to five key pieces against a team that's also been hot as of late. But when everything is rolling like a well oiled machine, nothing will stop you. The SBS Trashers used balanced scoring, determination and smart hockey to crush the Legends. Adding to that, R.Pampena is playing like a mobile wall between the pipes. Unless it's a grade A scoring chance, the net minder will surely stop any ball his direction. L.Folini and K.Hrivnak each had two goals while combining for seven points. As for the Legends, E.Capalbo was the only player to figure out R.Pampena.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Giancarlo Pisanelli of the Job on Demand. Even with only a couple of change ups, the highly skilled forward went full throttle participating in all six goals that included a hat trick.
