(6)UD Redz vs Fat Cats(1)
N.Zahabi's 4 assists leads to 6-1 win for UD Redz
N.Zahabi had an incredible four assists and six different players scored as the UD Redz steamrolled through the Fats Cats. The game was barely eleven minutes old when the UD Redz struck four times to dictate the terms early. Unable to recover, the Fat Cats had nothing going for them. It wasn't up until the three minute mark of the third period that G.DeMarinis cracked the barrier. Till that point, Y.Beaulieu kept a clean sheet stopping everything his way.
(4)Fat Roy vs Carnage (3)
Big third period helps Fat Roy top Carnage
Fat Roy left Carnage behind with a big third period. C.Papadatos scored his second and N.Gikas followed up with the winner in what was a grind till the final whistle. Both teams traded two first period goals while going through a scoreless second period leaving only fifteen minutes or more to decide things. Unlike Carnage, wins have been hard to come by for Fat Roy this season, who just snapped a four game losing streak. N.Gikas did more than notch the winner as the quick forward was behind setting up L.Frino and C.Papadatos in the first period.
(7)Mighty Drunks vs Horsemen (4)
Mighty Drunks take all three frames to down Horsemen
The Mighty Drunks broke it down simple and efficient. They won every single frame by a slight margin and got the expected goaltending-from O.Caillet. M.Beaudry scored twice in the first period right after M-A Desrosiers opened the scoring, who also went on to add his second early in the third period. The Horsemen let the game slip away by the second period where they allowed three straight goals before finishing off strong to pull within two. In hopes of riding a strong finish, the Horsemen realised that it just wasn't their night when M-A Desrosiers scored early in the final stretch for a sufficient 6-3 lead.
(9)Scorpions vs Buckshots(10) S.O
Eight goals not enough for either side, Buckshots go the extra distance for shootout win
Defence was not top of mind Wednesday night as the Buckshots took a 10-9 thrilling shootout win over the Scorpions. The attack came out with guns blazing as both sides thought only of offense rather than back checking or trying to help the net minders. Perhaps they figured the more they scored the better the odds were of winning. Sadly, striking eight times still wasn't enough as a shootout was required. During that time, the Buckshots got it one better thanks to K.Kavan and C.Chanzos getting the better of P.Patel. Before netting the winner in the breakaways, C.Chanzos shared a two goal performance with M.Destounis as both players combined for seven points. As for the Scorpions, M.Cimenelli was almost guaranteed of feasting in these types of games as the skilled forward did not disappoint bagging three goals and an assist. To his help, B.Douek had a very product night responsible for setting up five markers.
(8)Bramabulls vs Left Wings(2)
Bramabulls put it into fifth gear by third period
With a 4-2 lead heading into the third period, the Bramabulls would pull away-from the Left Wings. The game was fairly close up until that point. When considering that the Bramabulls had only two lines and eight goals scored, usually a player or two would nod at least a pair. However, it wasn't the case as eight different players chipped in offensively. The captain did get credited the winner .A.DiPerna scored just shy of the mid way point of the match to regain a two goal cushion. Even though the goal scoring was balanced, J.Palmitano had a little more influence on the result adding three helpers to his tally.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Niko Gikas of Fat Roy. After setting up his clubs first two goals, N.Gikas couldn't have picked his winner at a better time leading Fat Roy to close 4-3 victory.
