Dragons looking in fine form to kick start their season
It didn’t take long for the Dragons to get their engine started, and it didn’t take long for them to pad their lead. With G.DeMarinis opening and closing the scoring in the first period for a 5-3 lead, the sequence really set the tone for what would be a long night for the RCGT Knights. It was clearly a good overall performance for the Dragons, with all of their ten players spreading the wealth. In hopes of rebounding after suffering an 8-5 loss, the RCGT Knights just couldn’t keep pace versus a deeper bench. The Dragons cruised to an easier 5-1 result in which once again G.DeMarinis popped in a pair along with M.Crapis doing the same. Despite playing his first game as a goaltender in many years, J.DeStefano didn’t look like he missed a beat. The net minder answered the challenge making some nice saves giving the energy and confidence to his teammates.

S.Masi breaks tie to help Mighty Cucks edge out Assadi Classics
Unable to close out the deal riding an earlier 3-1 lead the, Mighty Cucs were stuck settling for a 3-3 draw with the Assadi Classics, who somehow found the strength to tie the game with only one spare. The second match had a similar pattern. The Mighty Cucks played ahead for most of the match but kept getting answered to on three straight occasions. The Assadi Classics patiently hung around while waiting for an opportunity. M.Mavroudis scored twice and T.Langiano was able to level the game at three goals a piece. However, a costly penalty put the Assadi Classics back in a hole when S.Masi took the opportunity to capitalise on the power play. With the way the game was going, the Mighty Cucks knew they weren’t out of the woods just yet. Nearly half a period was still remaining before this game was said and done with. They did manage to get it right-from that point on by getting in the lanes and using their sticks to limit any real scoring chances. Overall, a good night to their season debut. As for the Assadi Classics, the issue was evident, dress more players moving forward.

Golden Knights make statement to the division
The Golden Knights made it clear not to mess with them when having the man advantage. They were crisp on their passes, and well positioned to create deadly chances that resulted in three power play goals. After grabbing the first of two games, the Golden Knights went for a double against a team that doesn’t concede much. The HBHA Masters normally defend well but were unable to preserve their lead on two occasions. M.Labrie proved to be a major impact notching back to back goals while setting up S.Racicot for the eventual winner. Even though this was the opening night for a new addition to the division, the message was sent loud and clear that the Golden Knights are the front runners to hit the finish line. There ability to move the ball and utilise their speed will cause fits for most of their opponents. That being said, everyone is beatable and teams will need to adjust in order to slow them down.
