Golden Knights, a step ahead of Degenerates in double rout
While the Degenerates got the memo about trying to play a low scoring game , the Golden Knights offense had other plans, shelling H.Psaroudis as the net minder had almost no chance on stopping some high end plays. Both results were lopsided. The Degenerates knew they had to play a zone defensive style , but even at that, nothing would work. All four periods reflected a balance effort for the Golden Knights scoring at least three in each frame. Even though its only their second week into the season, the Golden Knights continued to show why they are perhaps the front runners to taking it all. Its not like they need to solely rely on anyone in particular. Tonight’s wins came with scoring efforts-from seven different players consisting of a line up of nine players dressed. Sure, the Degenerates were embarrassed by a superior Golden Knights squad. They did however battle with only two changes, and never let up despite how hard it was to keep pace.

Assadi Classics yet to address an obvious issue, HBHA Seniors take full advantage
Its no secret that competing at this level with a short bench just doesn’t cut it. The Assadi Classics have yet to address this issue making it now two straight weeks stuck playing with only one change up. Despite trying to keep it close for as long as possible, the HBHA Seniors wasted no time putting it into gear early on in both games. S.Rigas and P.Musto set the tone in the earlier contest combining for six points while four different players took turns scoring in the second encounter for a comfortable 4-0 lead. Playing-from behind that early on makes it that much harder for a side that needed to conserve energy rather than spending it. Time will only tell-from this point on when the Assadi Classics decide to get their act together.

Mighty Cucs use early spurts to down RCGT Knights twice
Right-from the beginning of the game, the Mighty Cucks were ready to go on Monday night. They might have trailed 2-1 early on but a pair of power play chances put the Mighty Cucs in front on goals by M.Cerone and A.DiPancrazio. They definitely got things going-from that point on, and seemed to be an extra step ahead keeping the RCGT Knights hemmed in their own zone. The RCGT Knights relied on their strong finish in the opening game to spark a better effort in the ensuing match, but the opposite happened instead. By the time the first period ended, the Mighty Cucs ran up the score carrying a three goal cushion with only one period remaining. G.Cortese made an immediate impact riffling a hat trick early in the second period to put the game completely out of reach. There is no doubt the RCGT Knights are going through a tough mini stretch for the time being. Sometimes, the bounces just don’t go your way. As for the Mighty Cucs, this marks their third win in only four starts.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Marco Cerone of the Mighty Cucs. In nearly every play that resulted into a goal, M.Cerone was heavily involved accumulating a total of seven points in only two games.
