K.Kuczmarski racks up seven points as the Altius crush the Azzuri
(9)Altius vs Azzuri(3)
K.Kuczmarski erupted for a huge performance Wednesday against the Azzuri, logging fours goals and three assists in what was a convincing win for the Altius. He posted a silly stat scoring three goals in only two minutes. The Altius were already in command entering the second frame up 4-0 before Kuczmarski took over with an incredible stretch. It was a full display of dominance in the first period for the Altius. That kind of a lead only made matters worse for the Azzuri, who kept falling behind deeper unable to recover. It was clear that the Azzuri did not play well enough in their own zone. Giving up that many goals to start a game is simply unacceptable. They didn’t do a good enough job of sticking with their man and clearing some opportunities. Sure, the talent level is high on the Altius bench, but that doesn’t mean you cant pay a little more attention to detail. The Azzuri will need to go through the motions of trying to play well together as a group. They are slowly adding depth which will help. The only difference right now is that the chemistry will take time to develop when mixing and matching players that have not played together long enough. It may seem discouraging right now, but the Azzuri need to keep fighting through it and compete as hard as they could on a weekly basis.
Punishers storm back to crush Legacy
(4)Legacy vs Punishers(9)
The Punishers didn’t arrive on time for Wednesdays tilt against Legacy. In the end, it still didn’t matter. The Punishers are in a place where they can overcome any bout of in-game adversity. They encountered a few self inflicted moments through the first half of the game, and found themselves trailing 3-1 at one point. Then, the Punishers established their better habits as of the nine minute mark of the second frame. As soon as M.Levasseur scored to narrow the gap by one, the Punishers knew they were on their way to a better finish. They scored the games eight of nine goals-from that point on. D.Koutavas used two key tallies just prior to the second period ending providing the Punishers its first lead of the contest. Even though Legacy had another frame to get their act together , things only got worse-from there on. That’s when P.Karvouriaris decided to take over bagging back to back tallies along with an assist to put the game to rest. The Punishers are playing so well that they can afford to have some rocky moments here in there. Tonight proved again that unless you play a full out 45 minute game, your likely to fall behind on the scoreboard if playing the Punishers.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Kevin Kuczmarski of the Altius. Talk about making an immediate impact. Dressed in his first game this season for the Altius, K.Kuczmarski reminded everyone what he is capable of, collecting seven points that included four goals.
