Just another night at the office for the Generals
(11)Generals vs Sonic(1)
It didn’t seem to matter how many players the Generals show up with. Whether its two changes or fifteen players, the end result will usually look the same. Tonight, they floored a short bench which only means that their highly skilled players play a lot more. O.Valiquette is just one example as the captain was in full force accumulating seven points that included a hat trick. N.Tsataronis, in his first game dressed seemed to fit right in as the veteran had the most tallies with four goals. There weren’t many bright moments for Sonic unless you count J.Bouralakos’s lone tally that beat P.Blais. Apart -from that, the Generals were simply controlling the pace hanging on to the ball for long stretches. With the game ending earlier than usual, the two sides decided to use their extra time and play some pick up hockey for fun.
United Masters comeback falls short in loss to Dirty Scrubs
(3)United Masters vs Dirty Scrubs(4)
Momentum can be a funny thing. Just when the United Masters thought they had seized control, surging back on two consecutive goals, one bad sequence had them chasing for good. A couple of third period penalties didn’t help them either having to waste precious minutes on the defensive end of the court. They did eventually find themselves on the power play when the Dirty Scrubs took a late penalty with just over a minute remaining. You almost have no choice but to pull your net minder since time isn’t a luxury that you have. Unfortunately for the United Masters, a clearing attempt by P.Paikopoulous pretty much summed up the match despite A.Mercan responding with little time left over. When teams are evenly matched like in this particular case, a good start will always go a long way. The Dirty Scrubs owned that area scoring three times in the first half of the game on goals by N.Faria, A.Zarzour and M.Chenier.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Olivier Valiquette of the Generals. Even though he may not have been an influencer for the end result, the sniper caused the most havoc setting up four goals while earning a hat trick.
