Both sides played to an earlier 4-4 draw with S.Marricco scoring twice for the Degenerates and A.Addante doing the same for Les Immigrant. At no point did the Degenerates ever lead in the second contest, expect till the very end when A.Lanni swept a rebound that came from S.Marricco ‘s second wrist shot on M.Chamoun.

Punishers score in bunches of final frame to pull away from LG HC
The Punishers did all of their damage against the LG HC in a quick burst. So quick that they couldn’t grasp what had just happened to them. For most of the night, both sides seemed evenly matched with the Punishers taking a 6-5shootout win. Then, the Punishers re-established themselves and the flood gates eventually opened. After grabbing a 3-1 lead heading into the final period ,the Punishers had just gotten started adding four straight goals in a short span of only four minutes. C.Gingras decided to take over accumulating his sixth point in that single game after collecting three helpers and a shootout marker earlier on. A.Kobayati had a good game as well netting a hat trick. As for the LG HC, Y.Derohannessian was masterful in the opening match striking three times while adding a shootout goal.

S.Sauk shines as Excalibur suffocate Prolific athletes offense
The Excalibur went back to the drawing board this week by playing a tight defensive game while patiently waiting for their chances. There was no doubt that A.Fonrose was one the Excalibur’s better players in the first match. The feisty forward participated in all three goals to help lead the Excalibur to a 3-1 victory. The second contest required balance scoring but that did not change the formula for a second straight result. Again, S.Sauk was solid in net and the Prolific Athletes struggled to score getting only two all night on the veteran net minder. Both games were ultimately decided in the second frames where the Excalibur scored six out of their seven goals.

The Classics letting it slip way versus the Ice Breakers
In both their games, the Classics left the field feeling they could have done much better. After opening a 5-2 lead, they let it slip away surrendering four goals that had the match end in a draw. The Ice Breakers fuelled their comeback thanks to A.Tachejian and M.Thakaa bagging a pair. The Classics knew that they couldn’t just have a good effort and be satisfied with it for about half the game. They weren’t able to continue their pressure and put the match away, instead, they were stuck enduring a massive push back from their opponent. The good news was that they had a second chance to regulate a poor finish. However, the Ice Breakers weren’t planning to repeat the same mistake by starting off slow. This time, they grabbed the lead an put the pressure on the Classics. P.Santullo eventually tied things up but found himself taking an untimely penalty with only three minutes left in the game. Clearly, that spelled trouble for the veteran club, who once again saw the game slip away. After receiving a perfect pass from R.Yousefi in the higher slot area, A.Tachejian leaned into his one timer on a shot that gave P.Assadi no chance to react. That goal put the final dagger on a night to forget for the Classics.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Carl Gingras of the Punishers. The highly skilled forward lit up the LG HC with a remarkable nine points that included a shootout marker. Normally teammates would be blown away by such a performance, but not the Punishers who have gotten used to seeing this on a regular basis.

M.Morin sets the tone posting hat trick for Orient
Considering how close the second encounter was between the 1 Timer and the Orient there wasn’t much of a contest in the first match. That was when M.Morin took matters into his own hands participating in all four goals that included a hat trick. The 1 Timer had all but a very short sequence all night where they looked very competitive. After trailing 3-0 in the second match, P-A Surprenant was the catalyst behind sending the game into a shootout. The sniper scored twice while setting up C.Ethier-Gagnon with goals all coming in the last two minutes of the game. The Orient looked good in the earlier encounter due to a couple of key factors. First being M.Morin, who struck shorthanded for the 1-0 lead and M.St-Laurent that was able to stop every ball his way for the shutout.
