Hart Foundation have only themselves to blame in split with RCGT Knights
The Hart Foundation had it all in front of them Monday night, all the ingredients necessary to close out their mini series with the RCGT Knights. They were riding the high right after taking the opener with a double up win thanks to a pair of tallies-from K.Dupont. Entering the second game, the Hart Foundation couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity to keep their momentum going. They were awarded a four minute power play, and rather than capitalising, they tripped all over themselves giving up two straight markers with the man advantage. In an instant, things spun out of control and the RCGT Knights knew it was their turn to return the favour. J.Morina and M.Deninno each scored shorthanded and E.Parent took care of his cage allowing a very late tally.

Sluggish Classics fall to motivated HC Jokerit
Through a combination of thoughtless plays in the defensive zone coupled with the fact that they couldn’t solve H.Psaroudis many times, the Classics had a night to forget going almost empty handed against a more motivated group of guys. Credit to the HC Jokerit ,who were ready to play as it showed -from the get go when B.Grant and S.Amaral scored to make the score 2-0 by the five minute mark of the opening frame. Despite their terrible start however, the Classics did get their act together and slowly crawled back into it needing a late power play tally by K.Araujo to even the score. Its not usually gratifying for teams to end their game on a draw, but the good news was that somebody would get the chance to come out on top in the second meeting. The Classics have a ton of experience throughout their line up but repeated the same mistake in as many games. There inability to have a better start ultimately bit them in the end. They fell behind 2-0, and this time nobody was able to bail them out. C.Anasthasopoulos got credited the winner while H.Psaroudis remained stubborn between the pipes on a brilliant performance.

Orient show fight in anticipated battle with Punishers
If Monday night was a sign of things to come, we can be in for quite a playoff if these two teams meet up. In a battle between two very talented teams, the Punishers and the Orient threw everything at each other only to have one goal make the entire difference throughout the two games. That tally occurred late in the first match courtesy of S.Harchi snapping the tie for his second of the contest. The Punishers felt they needed a response after a heart felt loss. Clearly it motivated them as they sprung out winning the opening frame 3-1.The problem however was that they couldn’t bring it for the entire two periods. The Orient put the emphasis to have each others back, to play as a unit and responded due to their confidence of overcoming the hurdle. Perhaps the key moment happened when M.Morin scored shorthanded against a lethal power play unit. Then, only a minute and change later, E.Harnois tied the game and the Punishers felt they lost this one as well despite it ending in a draw.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Harry Psaroudis of the HC Jokerit. The Classics felt the frustrations of trying to figure out a goaltender who stood firm throughout four entire periods which enabled to the HC Jokerit to grab 4 out of a possible 6 points to the standings.
