Strong third period propels Knights to victory
The Knights finally put an end to their 5-game losing streak and did so in convincing fashion. After getting pummeled the week before, the Knights showed their character and grit and played a solid overall game from start to finish. The game was deadlocked at 3 goals apiece after 2 periods and both teams were evenly matched and trading chances. Then the third period started, and the Knights took over by notching 4 unanswered goals on their way to a much-deserved victory. Despite their record and to their credit, the Flying Squirrels competed and made a game of it but just couldn’t solve S.Sauk in order to get their first points of the season. The Knights got a much-needed boost with the win and will look to pursue their success come playoff time.

Langiano & Mavroudis single handedly take care of Sonic in rout
The veteran Fatal Demons have an abundance of weapons in their arsenal and tonight 2 of them were on full display. Sonic had no answer for the dynamic duo of T.Langiano & M.Mavroudis who took care of the offence by combining for an eye popping 16 points. The Demons didn’t allow Sonic any time or space and dictated the pace of the game with their ball control and movement. Sonic did manage to score very early in the encounter, but the lead was short lived, and the Demons opened the flood gates with Sonic unable to stop the onslaught of shots and goals. The victory gives the Demons the momentum needed just in time for the playoffs, where they’ll be in tough to defend their championship and as for Sonic, F.Pace will have to go back to the drawing board and rally his troops.

Van Doos HC finish season undefeated after another convincing win
The Van Doos extended their incredible winning streak to 10 games and managed to complete the season by remaining undefeated in a highly competitive division. They have a well-balanced attack and veteran d-men who can easily join the rush with quick transition and crisp passing making it difficult to adequately game plan for them. As they have done for most of the season, they jumped to a quick 4-0 lead after 2 periods and never trailed, with G.Di Zazzo leading the way with a hat trick. For the Squirrels, maybe fatigue was a factor, having played the night before, but they did attempt a valiant comeback in the third, but it was too little too late, as the damage was already done. This was a tough season for the newcomer Squirrels, who can surely make the necessary adjustments to get better outcomes. Van Doos started and finished strong and will be a force in the upcoming playoffs as they now await their opponent.

Intense playoff like battle favors the Snipers over the Brew Crew
In what was the game of the night and a battle for positioning within the standings, this match-up didn’t disappoint. It featured 2 teams with similar playing styles, where both are known for their intensity and defense first mentality. As expected, it was a close physical game with both teams fighting for every inch and where chances were limited. The Snipers got on the board first and never trailed in the game and just kept frustrating the Brew Crew at every opportunity. The Brew Crew had more than enough time to get back in the game, but kept getting stifled, with A.Sayed ultimately sealing their fate by scoring a shorthanded goal in the third period. The regulation win gave the Snipers a better seeding in the standings and a potentially easier playoff match-up. As for the Brew Crew, captain C.Palermo will certainly prepare, address and adjust before the playoffs begin.
