Wednesday March 20 (Final)
Senators Seal Wednesday Division Glory with Late Goal Against Stars
(1)Stars vs Senators(4)
From-the opening whistle, it was evident that goals would be hard to come by, with both goaltenders standing tall between the pipes. The game unfolded as a defensive battle, with each team fiercely contesting every inch of the playing surface. Despite the intense pressure, the scoreboard remained deadlocked at 1-1 through much of the game. Both sides traded scoring chances, but stellar goaltending and resilient defense kept the game tied. As the clock ticked down in the final portion of the match, tension reached a fever pitch. With just minutes remaining, the Senators seized a golden opportunity and found the back of the net to take a crucial 2-1 lead. S.Mascitto was the one to snap the tie on a brilliant effort. Up until that point, B.Verducci gave the Stars every opportunity possible by making some exceptional saves. Unfortunately, the net minder couldn’t control what his offense needed to do as they struggled to penetrate the Senators back line, and more importantly M.Masicitto. T.Nardelli had already scored early in the game while adding his second for some insurance. He wasn’t overly busy, but M.Mascitto nevertheless was a rock in net allowing only one goal in his seasons most important game. As the final buzzer sounded, the Senators erupted in celebration, their victory secured in a hard-fought 4-1 triumph over the Stars. With their Wednesday division championship clinched, they hoisted the trophy high amidst cheers-from their ecstatic bench, etching their names into ball hockey glory.
The Allo Mon Coco Ste Dorothee player of the game goes to Joey Teresi of the Senators. His ability to control the ball kept the opposition guessing on what plays he would generated. Teresi occupied both ends of the court, breaking up plays in the defensive end while creating chances on the offense end that led to many creative plays resulting in two big assists.
